When a disaster strikes, will you have the skills and knowledge to help lead the response? American Public University is a highly respected leader in providing quality education to emergency management and public safety professionals. You can earn your Bachelor of Arts in Emergency and Disaster Management entirely online, allowing you to continue your professional duties while fitting career-relevant education into your busy lives.
You will be introduced to an all-hazards curriculum in addition to emergency and disaster management phases, risk assessment, prevention and management, counterterrorism, consequence management, mitigation, and recovery.
You’ll learn from and interact with expert professors, many who are leaders with frontline experience mitigating some of the largest and complex emergency and disaster management missions in the U.S. and overseas. You’ll find the APU emergency and disaster management community to be tightknit, engaging, and highly supportive. Your classmates may be actively involved with industry associations including the International Association of Emergency Managers, Masters of Disaster, and more. This is the peer group with whom you’ll connect and collaborate as you continue to prepare to make a positive difference in the event of a new disaster.
