Earn Your Associate of Science in Space Studies Online

Get an introduction to the exciting field of space studies with an Associate of Science in Space Studies from American Public University (APU). Originally designed by a former NASA astronaut, this online program covers current and historical concepts in astronomy, planetary science, space policy, and space flight, with hands-on labs in many core courses.

Through the AS in Space Studies, you’ll analyze the principles of manned and unmanned flight; apply knowledge of math, earth science, and space science to solve space/earth studies problems; and examine the possibility of extraterrestrial life in our solar system and beyond. You’ll also have the opportunity to access the University’s remote-controlled observatory with a fully online 24-inch f/6.5 Corrected Dall-Kirkham telescope.

The program also serves as a foundation for further study in our bachelor’s and master’s degrees in space studies.

APU’s programs are online with 24/7 access and no set login times. At APU, there are no entrance exams and classes start every month, so you can begin quickly and control your schedule. Ask us about transfer credit opportunities to help you save time and money in completing your degree.
