About the TSA Program at APU

The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) and American Public University (APU) are partners in education for the TSA Associates Program. Through this program, you can go to college online while working as a TSA security officer. You’ll gain a greater understanding of homeland security threats while helping to strengthen the security of our nation’s transportation system.

APU is respected for career-relevant academic programs. We are part of the American Public University System which is fully accredited by the Higher Learning Commission. Our online courses fit the demanding schedules of employees like you, and many of our highly-credentialed faculty hold key positions in government agencies and public safety organizations.

Note: We are waiving our ADMN100 assessement for all TSA employees.

After successfully completing the learning track, take 3 more courses to complete our Foundations in Homeland Security Certificate program. Choose from:

Upon successful completion of your certificate program, you can take an elective course – Regulatory Issues in Weapons of Mass Destruction – also paid for by TSA.

Note: All courses beyond the learning track program are pending approved TSA funding.
