American Public University's Bachelor of Applied Science (BAS) in Technical Management is designed to build upon your prior education and work experience gained through your community college or military technical courses and occupations. Completion of the BAS program provides the maximum opportunity for you to leverage your experience into a degree in preparation for management and supervisory roles. In addition, you’re able to earn stackable credentials, enabling you to receive your associate degree or certificate, while earning your BAS.

In APU's Bachelor of Applied Science in Technical Management, you will:

  • Conduct business problem focused management research, including collection and analysis of data, and communication of findings by using qualitative and quantitative research methods.
  • Develop and foster critical thinking, analysis, planning, and communication skills.
  • Examine complex organizational issues that include staffing, budgeting, strategic management, quality control, project management, supply chain management, marketing management, information systems, production and operations.
  • Demonstrate a proficiency in identifying and solving problems related to the specialty area using Technical Management, Project Management, Technical Research Management, Management Information Systems, and Transportation Security Management.
  • Develop an analytical framework using a variety of approaches to apply leadership and management theory and practice to address the challenges of global organizations in this century.
  • Evaluate technical management issues in the context of ethical, technological, structural, cultural, human and environmental factors.
  • APU's BAS in Technical Management explores management theories, concepts, and practices necessary to organize, motivate, and lead human capital.

    • Books online at no cost. If you're taking an undergrad course for credit, textbooks and ebooks are included at no cost. This can save you about $1,200/year if you’re enrolled full time, according to the College Board 2017-2018 Trends in College Pricing.
    • Serving the military. Active-duty servicemembers and their spouses/dependents, Guard members, Reservists, and veterans receive a tuition grant. We also waive technology fees for active-duty, Guard, and Reserve servicemembers using military tuition assistance (TA).
    • Help when you need it. Our excellent support staff can walk you through ways to fund your education, including federal student aid, military TA, veterans’ benefits, scholarships, private loans, and employer contributions.
